An explanation of our Handling, Packaging & Postal Charges.

On several occasions we have had emails from customers regarding our Postage, Packaging and Handling Charges so here is an explanation of our policy.

1) We aim to make the product prices as reasonable as possible, however we do need to cover overheads such as packaging, handling etc.

2a) Postage - this is based on the weight of goods including their own packaging rounded up to the nearest 10g to allow for variations which sometimes occur. Charges are based on current UK Royal Mail Rates.(Last Updated on 06/04/2010)

2b) Packaging & Handling - this is based on an average cost of outer packaging such as padded bags/boxes. In addition it also allows for any extra weight charges made by the post office when we include complimentary gifts and product samples.

To enable customers to have control over their spend we offer the following options :-

UK - First class - This option provides a first class service. (Normally next working day After posting).

UK - Second class - This option provides a basic second class lower cost service for lighter* packages. (Normally within 3 days After posting).  *Up to 1kg - if over and above this weight the system will show First Class prices.

Europe - First class - This option provides an Airmail & Signed for service for extra protection.

Europe - Second class - This option provides a Standard Airmail Service.

Rest of the world - First Class - This option provides an Airmail Trackable Service.

Rest of the world - Second Class - This option provides a Standard Airmail Service

Very Important
1) In the event that the goods are damaged, incorrect or there is any other problem with the order upon arrival, the customer must notify us by email at enquiries@safeliving.info within 48 hours.

2) If the goods do not arrive within 10 days after our "Completed" notification email is received, the customer must inform us via email at enquiries@safeliving.info or phone / post.

We will do everything we can to assist by communication with the carrier and provide the customer with proof of posting.

In most cases a claim will be made by us to re-cover costs of the order*, once received we will despatch a replacement.

* With Second Class and Basic Airmail services, refund of postage costs is not given by Royal Mail (only the goods value) so for maximum protection we recommend the signed for services. We reserve the right to impose a basic charge when resending the goods when these lower cost services are selected.

March 2010 - We have recently had packages returned to us, sometimes several weeks after being originally despatched, where the customer has used a signed for service. The postal service has tried to deliver the goods on more than one occasion but no-one was at home to sign for the package. Please note that on these occasions when we receive order back a refund for the cost of the products will be made, but as the postage cost is not refunded by Royal Mail (or other carrier) we are unable to refund this amount. Before selecting tracked or signed for service please make sure that someone is available to receive and sign for the order.
